Robert and Hollie's first Sabbath was early part of 2013 and went to visit a study fellowship that met in a hotel conference room about 5 miles from their house. This was when they first discovered the depths of what this walk would mean to them and their family and the learning has not ever stopped. After doing a deep study of the Scriptures they saw these repeating words for Sabbath over and over again: "forever, generation to generation, it's a sign, etc."
Roberts shares his perspective on the sabbath. "It has given me a dedicated day to spend with Yah. I know that each day is dedicated to him, but this day is special in that I get to spend the whole day with Him. In His word, in praise of him. It's such a valuable time of the week to regenerate myself for the rest of the week."
And Hollie shows how her life has changed. "It has changed dramatically! I look forward to that weekly set apart day with my Creator. Gives me something to look forward to each week, especially when it's been a tough one!"
They both "absolutely" have blessings that they did not see before. They see that time is something that always seemed to get away from them and there was never enough of it. Although today, the week is still very much like this, the Sabbath is now set apart to Him and they look forward to it and peace each week. They take the sabbath command seriously, it is part of their walk, and HE has blessed them like never before!
They make the Sabbath special with dinner at the table and lighting their Menorah, having a glass of wine, and enjoying freshly baked Challah. But are working on how to be more consistent.
To help others with Sabbath, Robert suggests, "There are things that Yah has revealed to me in my time spent with Him on this special day that I never saw before. Mainly because I didn't ever spend that much time with Him before, but now that the day is set apart to Him and I look forward spending that time. He blesses me with new information that makes me appreciate who He is and my ability to have a relationship with Him." And Hollie says, "Keep it simple! Set the Sabbath as a day Holy and Set Apart. Be in HIS Word, Worship HIM with praise music and pray to HIM throughout the day."
Hollie shares, "It took seven years in the wilderness to finally understand the depth of His set apart Sabbath. Go slow, He is always gentle, merciful and full of grace. He brought you to it, He will bring you through it!"
